Join Our Client's Team as a Maintenance Trailer Fitter!

Position: Maintenance FitterLocation: North KillingholmeSalary: £15.50PHShift: Monday - Friday 8:00 - 17:00

Our client wishes to recruit a Maintenance Fitter to work within their busy Line Equipment Workshop and expanding Ro-Ro Terminal. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role and have a flexible, professional, and pro-active approach to work.

Key Duties:

  • Carry out diagnostic and repair work to a wide range of shipping equipment, including road trailers and other shipping line equipment like Mafi's, skellies, etc.

  • Perform mechanical and electrical work on road-going trailers, including braking and suspension systems, lighting, and ABS faults, ensuring work is carried out to a safe and legal standard.

  • Follow scheduled maintenance and inspection plans in accordance with individual shipping equipment guidelines.

  • Conduct detailed inspections and repairs to company standards.

  • Undertake welding and fabrication work, requiring a good understanding of MIG welding.

Requirements:

  • Good work ethic with strong organisational skills.

  • Ideally a time-served apprentice or equivalent with experience in mechanical and electrical diagnostics and repairs.

  • Formal welding and fabrication qualification or proven welding ability.

  • Previous experience in a similar role with knowledge of lighting, braking, and suspension systems.

  • Pro-active approach towards problem-solving, workload, and time management with good knowledge of Health and Safety.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, along with basic computing skills.

  • Ability to prioritise workload and work within a team.

  • Flexible approach to work, willing to cover when required and undertake any duties to contribute to the day-to-day running of the line equipment workshop.
