Fleet Controller Immingham (Perm)




We're thrilled to announce an opportunity for a Fleet Controller with a prominent UK-based company specialising in rail wagon maintenance and repair services. With deep roots in the rail sector, they're renowned for their commitment to excellence and agility in response to industry developments. Their strategically positioned outstations across the country enable them to deliver premium, confidential services to fleet owners nationwide, ensuring optimal operational performance and effectiveness.

Working Pattern:

  • Monday to Thursday: 08:00 - 16:00

  • Friday: 08:00 - 15:30

Totalling 37 hours per week.

Additionally, the role requires being on call every 5 weeks, with a payment of £100 for each on-call period.

Responsibilities:

As a Fleet Controller, your responsibilities will include keeping customers informed about stoppage progress and issues, assisting Field Service staff with the movement of wagons and sourcing spare parts for repairs, ensuring timely release of wagons from repair status, and producing and monitoring maintenance plans for allocated fleets. You'll also be tasked with updating fleet maintenance records accurately and in real-time, reviewing vehicle mileage for individual customers, and providing coverage as a "B" controller during the holidays. Additionally, you'll regularly review maintenance records to ensure all repaired vehicles are cleared, obtain order numbers for non-contract work and submit final costs, and monitor wheelset bearing dates to ensure compliance with customer policies. You'll be responsible for developing and monitoring Balanced Maintenance plans for fleets, managing damage events for individual customers, maintaining accurate wheelset details, and compiling reports as required. Furthermore, you'll assist with general office duties as needed to ensure smooth operations.

The preferred candidate should have robust organisational abilities, excellent communication skills, and a keen eye for detail. They should be adept at multitasking and efficiently prioritizing tasks in a dynamic setting. Furthermore, problem-solving skills are crucial for resolving issues promptly and expediting repairs when necessary.
